Overview
The Hiwatt SUPER-HI 33 is a true gain monster, pairing the famously clean and responsive Hiwatt power section with a ferocious cascaded gain preamp. Based on the legendary Custom Shop Super-Hi amplifier, this circuit was specifically designed to be the ultimate modern gain machine. It features two dedicated channels, each with independent gain and master volume controls, allowing for precise stage management. To push the amplifier into complete meltdown, it includes an independent 'Super-Hi' boost, putting four distinct levels of gain and volume right at your disposal.
Unlike its 50-watt big brother, the Super-Hi 33 utilizes two 6V6 tubes in the power section to provide a solid, tight bass response and excellent headroom at more manageable volumes. Because of the massive amount of cascaded filth generated in the preamp, Hiwatt smartly incorporated a clean and quiet post-preamp FX loop. This ensures that even under maximum gain, your modulation and time-based effects remain exceptionally clean, clear, and articulate.
